A depression west-northwest of Belmullet, maintained a fresh to strong, southerly airflow over Ireland. Associated fronts over east Leinster and Ulster cleared to the northeast. A band of rain cleared north-eastwards in the first hours of the day, followed by scattered showers, mainly in the west and south. The morning saw a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers, some heavy especially in Munster, while isolated thunderstorms and more showers occurred later in the day. The evening and night became mostly dry in many areas with clear spells, as showers gradually became confined to western counties.
