Ireland lay in a moderate to fresh, southwesterly airflow, between an anticyclone over Europe and a depression in the mid-Atlantic. An associated front on the West coast of Ireland moved eastwards over the country throughout the day. The day started dry in the East, while rain over the western half of the country extended eastward to all areas by mid-morning. Sunshine and scattered showers followed through the afternoon and evening. The evening saw scattered showers and sunny spells continuing to spread from the West. More showers affected parts of the Northeast and East early in the night, followed by long clear spells and just well-scattered showers for the rest of the night.

Ireland lay in a southwesterly airflow, with weak Atlantic fronts close to the country. The day started mostly cloudy with patchy rain in the West and Southwest, spreading further inland during the morning. Rain became lighter and more broken through the afternoon, with some brighter spells developing, especially in eastern and southern areas. Later in the day, scattered showers continued in the West and North, while many eastern areas turned drier with clearer intervals overnight.
