Ireland lay in a moderate to strong, easterly airflow between high pressure over the North Sea and a shallow depression centred over the Bay of Biscay. Cloudy to start with rain and drizzle in the South and West of the country, heavy at times. It remained dry in the Northeast of the country with sunny spells. In the afternoon and evening, this rain continued to move northward over the country, affecting parts of the East, South and North at times. Coming into nightfall, the rain eased to patchier rain and drizzle.
